Environmental Engineering, Recycling

Sustainability. This is the demand of a growing number of consumers worldwide that has led to a u-turn in the thinking of the entire economy. Those who still refuse to acknowledge the importance of green issues and sustainability or at least give the impression of doing so are finding themselves increasingly out of step with the times. All processes from energy production to increasing the efficiency of the internal combustion engine are being optimised with the goal of reducing their impact on resources and the environment. Besides environmental technology, recycling and waste management have emerged as sub-industrial sectors.

It will come into force, once 30 states have signed the convention. Currently, only 27 have signed up. The RWO GmbH from Bremen in Germany, a subsidiary of Veolia Water Solutions & Technologies, is an internationally acknowledged specialist for on-board water treatment. The new ballast water regulation would bring the company unimagined growth potential. more...
