How do the stripes come into the toothpaste? The personnel of Norden Machinery AB are able to answer this question in great detail. The Swedish company, which originated from Arenco, which in turn evolved from a local manufacturer founded in 1877, is the worldwide market leader for tube filling machines.

For Norden Machinery a business relationship does not end with the sale of the product. The company actively supports customers in maintaining peak performance of the tube filling system throughout its lifecycle. Norden supplies tube filling systems specialised for five main segments. These are cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, toothpaste, food and industrial.

Although the company has an export rate of over 95% to customers from around the world, it does its best to assist them all the time. It offers regular inspections, equipment maintenance and a training program for the staff. Spare parts on stock can be delivered in 24 hours to most parts of the world and are available for a minimum of ten years from the time of the sale.

Currently 185 employees and an additional 40 subsidiary employees in the United States, France, Germany, India, China and the United Kingdom are working for the company, which has put 8,000 machines into operation since the first machine was supplied in 1934.

Buying a Norden machine is a long-lasting investment. Built to be the best on the market in quality, efficiency and flexibility, the products can be upgraded when needed or when new technology is available. The company makes sure to keep its customers up-to-date with the newest developments on its website, on exhibitions and via newsletters.

The main focus is on tube filling machines, which are separated into three different categories. The low-speed segment offers machines which fill 25, 40 or 60 tubes a minute, mediumspeed machines manage 80 or 100 a minute, and the high-speed segment achieves 170, 200, 220, 300 or 500 a minute. The corresponding cartoning machines range from 80 to 500 cartons per minute.

Norden Machinery also offers a tray pack system, a case packer and various equipment, ranging from a store magazine to a robotic infeed. One of the company’s most popular inventions is the Design-A-Seal® system. By offering custom-made design for the tube seals, it has permanently changed the way tubes are marketed.

The products are constantly evolving, and so is the company. Since 2008, Norden has been part of the Coesia Group in Italy. The company is set on maintaining its market leader position and is always looking to improve its products and service, true to its current advertising slogan ‘Get more out of tubes.’
